Description:
Event DetailsExactly 100 years ago John Halliday Christie was arrested in Southall Park for theft. This is commemorated on boards in the park. In 1953 Christie was hanged for the murder of his wife at 10 Rillington Place in Notting Hill. He was also a serial killer. This talk examines his early life, from family roots in Halifax, war service, marriage and a string of lesser crimes in the 1920s and 1930s. Were there any clues to his future murders when he was a young man?
